We were exhausted from walking all morning long and needed a
place to rest. Luckily, Ketie remembered this cat mascot from You Tube! He’s
the first one we sought in Myeongdong. No words need be said, he understood our
needs and beckoned us to follow him.
He could’ve been a nefarious cat and
brought us to a dingy back alley with other sinister felines waiting for us and
we would’ve gladly followed in anticipation. Turns out he was a nice one. J
Welcome to the Cat Cafe! You pay KRW 9,000 to get in and
that includes a drink of your choice—coffee, tea or juice. For an additional
KRW 3,000, you may also purchase food for the kitties!
Sadly, the cats are not allowed to be held in this café. Womp womp. If they jump on your lap,
wonderful, but you can’t take them and carry them around like in the dog café.
Petting is, of course, acceptable.
The place has wifi and plenty of seats and you can stay for
as long as you please with that one drink.
So, the big question: Cats or dogs? I love both, but I have
more experience with cats and kittens, and take umbrage when they are depicted as
evil in kid cartoons. They’re independent, certainly not needy and like their
human touch in small doses and they’re off. What’s not to love?
Xoxo,
Karrisa & Ketie
